York Festival of Ideas - 16th June 2014
Monday 16th June, 6pm - 7.45pm
Authours Raffaella Barker and Dan Vyleta discuss their novels, both exploring the effect of war on the lives of individuals. In The Crooked Maid, Dan Vyleta unfolds a story of the aftermath of war in Vienna in 1948, while in From A Distance Raffaella Barker plays out the impact of a post-war decision on the lives of her main characters, set in Norfolk and Cornwall. Both illustrate the common human need for connection and belonging.
